New Delhi: Social media star Abdu Rozik’s reported arrest on July 12 at Dubai Airport on theft charges left his fans shocked. However, on Sunday morning, the actor took to Instagram to dismiss the rumours surrounding his alleged arrest.
He also shared posts and stories showing him attending the 9th edition of the India International Influencer Awards held in Dubai.
Abdu’s Team Breaks Silence
A report by India Today quoted S-Line Project, who manages Abdu, saying: “First of all, he is not arrested, he was only detained by the police. Abdu Rozik gave his explanations and was released. Today he will participate in the award ceremony, which will be held in Dubai. Secondly, the information in the media is not correct. We will take all legal action to protect Abdu Rozik and his image.”
His team further said, “Also, we will provide you with all information later on to inform Indian people. Believe us, we have a lot to say regarding this issue.”
Earlier, ANI reported: “Tajikistani singer and social media influencer Abdu Rozik was arrested at Dubai International Airport on Saturday, the company managing Rozik confirmed to Khaleej Times. Rozik was detained by authorities at around 5 am over the weekend, shortly after arriving in Dubai from Montenegro. However, the specific nature of the complaint has not been disclosed, and authorities have issued no official statement,” the report said.
The report attributed Khaleej Times and stated: “All we can say is that we are aware he has been taken into custody on allegations of theft,” a company representative told Khaleej Times, declining to provide further details. Rozik’s popularity rose through his music, viral videos, and reality television appearances, including Bigg Boss 16.
Who is Abdu Rozik?
Abdu is a popular Tajikistani singer who gained massive popularity through his music, viral videos, and participation in Bigg Boss 16. He has sung various songs, including Ohi Dili Zor, Chaki Chaki Boron, and Modar. Rozik is also a boxer and an entrepreneur, apart from being a part of the entertainment industry.
This isn’t the first time Abdu Rozik has found himself embroiled in controversy. In 2023, he was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in India regarding a money laundering probe linked to a hospitality company. He wasn’t officially listed as an accused in the matter.
